1.2.0 to 1.5.0 - 2 lazy 4 devlogs

I got a tiny bit lazy. Surely I don't have to write devlogs if the executable is not available to the public, right? Right?
That was really smart on my part, mind you. I've already changed & updated internal file structure a couple of times, so that saves me a lot of time writing migration code. "But dev, why would we care about your internal file structure?" - because it directly affects how the jam project and reviews are stored on disk.
Anyway. Time for some updates.
1.2.0 - The Stars

"Stars" is a new review style. Set a score of <min> to <max> stars to a game, including support for partial stars (with steps of either 1/10, 1/5, 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2. 1/2 is recommended by me). Also stars change depending on the range. I'm very proud of my paint skills, so they went straight into drawing the low rated stars.
Main thing about this review style is - the notes and the positives/negatives are actually rendered as an IGN-style game card on the exported png, rating and all.Note: All those "game cards" are exported onto a single png. Screenshot above is just an example.
1.3.0 - Gamblingmaxxing
Do you know what is more fun that playing games? Gambling.
What if you could gamble WHILE YOU'RE STREAMING GAMES?
Introducing: Game picking pachinko! Drop the balls and see them fall into a game bucket! Smack the cabinet if a ball gets stuck! Game with the highest score will be reviewed next!
Surprisingly fun on stream. Even better than a wheel.
1.4.0 - S-Tier
Tierlist is something that I wanted to implement from the very beginning. And now it's here!
There are actually 2 scoring systems hidden in one. Both are tierlists though. One is a "Text" tierlist, your classic S to F, and another one has pictures (see screenshot). One of them "forces" the game to be on a certain tier, another on lets you put it wherever on the canvas (see screenshot above, again). Eventually it will be configurable, but for now there are 2 new default review styles, 2 different types of tierlist.
And of course - the tierlist can be exported, just like with all other review styles.
1.5.0 - Gamblingmaxxing 2: Lootbox Boogaloo
Did you know I heccin love gambling? You do now. And I have a brand new gambling way of picking games - opening a lootbox!
The box wiggles around, just itching to be opened. Honestly - I’m very proud of this one. Feels so good I’ve been rerolling it myself for fun.
I might have a gambling addiction.
And that’s all for now!
According to my estimations - I’m halfway done.
Current plans are:
- 1.6.0 - Percentages review style
- 1.7.0 - Scales review style
- 1.8.0 - Statistics for overall app usage (games played, average play time, average score, stuff like that)
- 1.9.0 - Review style editing
- 1.10.0 - FAQ, tutorial & public release
And remember - plans are always subject to change.
